37mm cannons less effective [Fixed 0.9.5]
« on: November 09, 2015, 02:47:40 PM »
In this video, I was trying to kill the Zero, my cannons hit a few times but somehow the zero survived, and not even broke any rudders or elevator,... When I used 0.3 cal, 5 hits and it lost elevator

Doesn't it depend where it hits?

No matter where you hit a zero the zero is dead pretty much

No way a Zero is gonna survive a 37mm cannon shell. The thing's made of paper. Probably can't even survive under its own firepower for 5 seconds

Average length needed to kill a zero with 6 50s is 2-3 seconds

not necessarily....it depends on the type of M4 ammo that is programed into the game.  if it is HE ( high explosive ) then you are pretty much correct...but you would have to hit something that would detonate the HE fuse.  if you shot the wing it could do a "through and  through" and detonate on the other side in the air. the only damage to the plane would be a tear in the skin on the wing ( if it didn't hit a rib or control lines..fuel tank etc)  IF the game has only AP rounds programed...then a jap plane could take several hits and survive if none of them stuck vital areas....

In 0.8.2, the 37mm was fine.

The 12.7mm rounds were also like HE rounds against Japanese planes before 0.9.3.

0.9.3 decreased the damage of guns.

I didn't think their was damage points. You can survive multiple rounds in the rear but not as many anywhere else. Also, in the future are you going to add realistic bullets like in war thunder, how they are affected by gravity. And adding bullet holes in the exact spot where the aircraft is hit. I don't think portable devises like phones can handle it but it would be worth trying am I right?

i can prove that theory i was in a zero the a6m2 and i saw a enemy zero a6m3 in arcade so i did my reglar tactic climb and dive on him and i used my mgs and within about three seconds it tore to peaces and exploded so i just proved our theory and non of the less it cant even survuive for 5 seconds

And it must be a bug because in arcade with my p39 I was on the tail of a p38 and within like 60-70 feet so I used my cannon and with 2 shots it fell out of the sky so that is just weirs
