A Brief Q&A of Development and Phanotek
« on: November 26, 2017, 07:58:57 PM »
Roughly two days ago, I sent the developer quite the email. As with every in-progress game that has a player base, players here have always sought for more answers and transparency. While Wings of Duty is the most recent of concern, many users still wonder about when the older games will return and the likes. Hopefully this provides you all with a bit of clarity in those matters. I know a certain few people who will be looking forward to the upcoming years!

Recently me and some of the more senior community members were discussing some things regarding the forums and the Phanotek games. I can't recall who first brought it up, but we started talking about way back when Gunship III first came around and all those memories.

At some point my curiosity was driven, and I couldn't help but take a look at a more recent Q&A thread for Wings of Duty, and it provided quite a bit of information people were glad to see. However, why not learn about the rest of your work?

I know there are a lot of members that'd enjoy learning more details about the company, their projects, and more about yourself. Especially us older users, the few of us who have managed to stick around since 2013-- Four years.

Thanks for being with the game from the beginning. The company started in 2011 with the first helicopter combat game “Gunship3D", you still could find many videos of Gunship3D from the internet. At the time, the company name is Phanovatives. Gunship3D later involved to Gunship-II in 2012 and later Gunship-III and Gunship-III multiplayer in 2013. Until 2013, our capability is still very limited, the UI of Gunship-III is very primitive and basic, even though the  game physics is more advanced.

We started Wings Of Duty: WW2 at the end of 2014, with a goal of developing a more long-term product in order to secure our financial future. In 2015, Phanovatives became Phanotek Inc. The plan is developing Wings Of Duty to become a platform for all future products.

It's been asked before but never really happened in the past, but would you be up to it? Perhaps even a verbal session as well in a discord channel, or perhaps some kind of office tour or something of the sort with your team. I think the community would love to see some more transparency with how you do things.

It’s hard for us to do that since currently, we are still having very limited resources, especially time; however, that could change in 2018, we will allocate some resources to build the main Phanotek website, WingsOfDuty.com website, and will integrate the forum to become more attractive and informative. We are also planning expand the company, and will have more resources for provide on more transparency into our works.

Oh, and of course there are still many questions on when the Vietnam, Korea, and other era series games will come about. I know me and the senior members are interested heavily in Vietnam and Korea-- We practically watched them evolve into what they are now, and what they could be in the future based off Wings of Duty.

In 2018, you will see the new Korea II game developed from the Wings Of Duty platform. From 2019-2020, WOD Modern Jet will come out with more advanced graphics and gameplay together with reintroducing Gunship IV on the new game platform. 2018, WOD:WW2 will have new maps, tanks and battleships.

Now, I'll be honest and say I haven't really touched Wings of Duty of the older games in awhile myself. My trusty IPad 2 finally can't reliably handle the latest versions of WoD-- And we thought Korea would have been the stopping point! I plan to work something out to better help with things. The other senior members seem to not really be interested in WoD, and for numerous reasons I'd hope to discuss with you on a separate note. I guess we preferred the 'older days!’

Thanks for being with us and being very supportive, Phanotek is a very young and small company which still has many room to growth. You will see improvements in product quality and contents  while still maintains it core original quality which is advanced simulation air combat on mobile device.

Thanks,

Phillip Phan

Founder and CEO of Phanotek Inc.

For those of you who'd have comments or questions for the developer, please direct to them to my private inbox on the forum or my email. This way they can be neatly organized and answered within free time.

Otherwise, keep a civil discussion here! Let's keep it clean.

Side note: The members I've mostly been referencing are those that haveve stuck around since the early versions of Gunship III Vietnam and even Gunship II. I've discussed things with them before the discussion shown here, hence why further discussing may take place. Stay tuned!

I really wished that every game Phanotek made was advertised. I love these games the company makes but it doesn’t get the recognition it should be. Ever since GSIII I been interested into mostly every game they make. I’ll try to support Phanotek Inc the best I can. Ps Excited for Korea II!!

That would be very nice, but advertising costs money and the devs need that money that they would pay for advertising to make us more stuffs.

But if advertising were to begin, then I believe it should focus on how realistic the game is, like how there are rooms/servers, settings (though not much), views, etc. I think that would draw more people to the game rather than just some clips of arcade gameplay or something.

Well that's disappointing, I thought the dev really cared about wings of duty... judging by what he said it seems that the only reason he made this game was to make money so he could make a game he actually cared about....that would explain the pay to progress business model, the premium planes and how he forces players to buy the same plane twice if they want the new damage model instead of just updating the game

Fw190>all allied fighters. Change my mind.
