Me and my wife have decided on names for the child.

If the child is a boy, I picked Artyom (Артём in Russian)

If the child is a girl, my wife picked Monica

We decided if it were to be a boy a Russian name would fit and for a girl an English name. What do you guys think of the names?

X can think what he wants, but I'll gladly prove myself if he wishes. I've done it once on this forum I can do it again.

And the pictures I took with my camera are to big for the forum. They have to be smaller than 5000kb which is rediculous I don't know how my pictures are bigger than that. But it's happened with every picture so I'm going to use a different camera so the quality may drop. I'll try to see if I can get my next flight, hopefully next weekend, and I'll post them for sure.

So yeah X if you have any questions, any at all feel free to ask. Seriously.

I have only one question. A precise question.
If you joined the war in 1971, why you wrote :
'Soviet air regiments were ask if any pilots would be willing to fly against the Americans if another smaller war broke out.'?
During 1971 there were no doubts  about the war. The war was standing since 16 years. USA were bombing since 7 years.
But you wrote 'The war was approaching',  'If broke out another war'... Those sentences (from your direct experience) are describing a scenario at the latest before 1964, when USA intervened.
Probably this campaign of recruitment started few years after the beginning of war in 1955, because Russia didn't wait American's bombs to decide about. And probably the recruitment started among experienced pilots, that fought in ww2 or Korea, because they had the responsibility to form Vietnamese pilots. It's difficult to conjecture a recruitment among young cadets for an operation so secret and delicate.
But when I say ' so,  you are about 80... ',  you say' no, I'm younger, because I was young and I joined the war in 1971, near the end'.
It seems an unintentional contradiction right when you are describing your feeling during that period of your life, and you should remember it very well, if it's true obviously.
I suppose that even in Russia there is the proverb 'the devil is in the detail'.
He probably meant that the Soviets were looking for pilots earlier in the war when he was unable to join. No need to heckle an old veteran just because he forgot to clarify a few details.

Of course.
However he should... Nah, don't mind.
All those years spent at the C.I.A. made me really suspicious.   ;D
Coming from a guy who seemingly can barely speak English, we're sure you have worked at the CIA.
Come on, do not be naive. Really do you think the CIA recruit only english native speakers? I can confirm that in the USA there is only 10% of the operatives. The others are around the world! All of them are beyond suspicion.  8)
I might be wrong but are you legally allowed to talk about that? I thought that sort of stuff is off limits to non-CIA agents

Well I have talked about thinks I am not alowed to haha. There are some things I will not disclose however. Like the name of the the 6th generation fighter concept and some of Russia's motives haha.

Mmmmm. I could inform my friends in Russia about that. Lol
You could receive a medal!  ;)

Haha you are funny. I also have friends in Russia, powerful fiends. My family has been in the air force for a long time, you start to get connections.
'For a long time '.... I hope not before the Wright brothers. ;D
However you'd have a lot of medals.

Artyom,  I like the sound but it's the first time I see this name. I'll check it.
Actually Monica is an Italian/Spanish name that has no translation in english. Or better, the name has Latin origin, and Monica is the Italian/Spanish version (because has the letter 'c' in the word). For example in Germany it's Monika, in France it's Monique.  I'm sure you already know Monica Bellucci.
The first famous Monica in the history was the mother of Saint Augustine, he was an early cristian philosopher (about 350 bc).
It comes from Latin 'Moneo' that means 'counselor, mentor', or the verb 'monere' that means 'to advise' and also comes from antique Greek 'monos' that means 'solitary, hermit'. For example 'monos' is the root of the english word 'monastery'. Nice and interesting name.

I once knew an Artyom in Russia, very nice man, I am glad you like the name. And my wife picked Monica not I so I assumed it was English. If I was going to have to name the gild I would have named her Monroe, but I like Monica a lot.
