I love those gunsights. I thought you had to lock them onto the target like radar, though, before it told you where to shoot. At least, that's how it happened in real life I believe.

Still very effective. Much more so than the MiG-15's primitive WW2 gunsight.

Yeah, I believe it was only until Vietnam where the gunsights became auto-locking.

Nope, during the last few months of ww2, pilots could have a gyro gunsight. Many chose to keep the old static sights because they were so used to them.

Yeah,P-51s had them,the P-47D-40,and a few other models and other aircraft had them,though I like my sights like on the phantom,a crosshair telling me the direction of where the gun is at and the moving part for pulling lead,because I can ignore 1 if possible,lol

I'm most excited about the F9F. It has good maneuverability and 4 cannons. And it's pretty fast. It's going to be 'the Yak killer'
